The company was established in 1989 by Mr A. Gayle and has remained in his sole control and ownership up to the present day.

In order for us to obtain Investors In People award the company had to meet the required standard and demonstrate the necessary principles which included commitment, planning, action and evaluation. An important aspect of the Investors In People standard Is the training of staff which A.G. Flooring also believe is a very important aspect for success.

We usually recruit 1 new apprentice each year straight from school and put them through a Construction skills flooring apprenticeship, whereby they will be working towards achieving their NVQ Level's 1 & 2 and if desired go on to achieve NVQ level 3. As company policy we also incorporate various other types of training and general staff development, such methods would include in-house and external training. We believe these methods are beneficial as they can be spread out over the year, taking into account the everyday demands of the business dispersed training methods will reduce strain on the workforce.

Mr Gayle has also been on the Manchester Board for The Princes Trust for a great number of years, he feels it is a honour to be able to help younger people who are mostly at a disadvantage to have the opportunity to develop their self confidence, achieve economic independence, fulfil their ambitions and contribute to the community through the medium of self-employment.
